Lake Wedowee At A Glance

Lake Levels
On 03/23/11 Harris Lake began its spring fill ahead of schedule, beginning at elevation 787, to fill to summer level approximately two weeks early by 4/15. Expect to see lake levels somewhat higher than normal for this time of year. Individuals with boats and water-related equipment and facilities should always stay alert to changing conditions and be prepared to take the necessary steps to protect their property.

Fishing Advice

By: Brian Morris  Fishing Guide

The month of April and May water temperatures should be an average of 67 to 73 degrees which will be

prime time for some great top water action, with throwing various top water baits especially first thing

in the morning to late afternoon. If that is not your forte than certainty you cant go wrong with

throwing a small finesse( preferred green) worm, rigged TeXes style or on a led head. Bass will also be

biting crank baits and spinner baits especially on a windy day. (Keep it Wet) and don't get bored if they

are not biting this is the best  time of the year to catch that Wedowee hog you been dreaming about…
